Katherine Barron... Charleston Fashion Week
I like running into people from my part of Virginia when I'm out on fashion adventures. When I run into people I knew in high school, Im reminded how great and small the world can be. Charleston Fashion Week emerging designer competition finalist Katherine Barron and I went to rival high schools, had the same group of friends, and even hung out a number of times. The funny part of all this? She doesn't remember any of it. I'll keep any blackmail photos to myself Katherine.
Aside of that, it's great to see other people from where I grew up striving for big fashion dreams with the talent to back it up. Here's a few shots from her currently collection, don't be fooled by its simplicity, it's all about the details.

"Me and the Street," A Short film
Charleston Fashion Week is over, it was an amazing week that left me under fed, short on sleep, but full of fashion fun.
I had the privilege to be featured in a short film that was submitted to the film contest they had for Charleston Fashion Week, my friends over at Random Found Objects headed the project and the film won, and showed at fashion week last Friday night. This is a must see, so head over to their blog post to watch "Me and the Street."

Natalie... New York Fashion Week, F/W 2013
Natalie is one of my New York based, fashion friends (twitter is awesome isn't it?). This is the second time I've photographed her and just like the first, she is one of those distractingly beautiful people, I seem to forget to "direct" my shot. Not like she needs any direction, silly me.

Rachel Gordon...One Love Design, Charleston, SC
For the past 9 months (not kidding, 9 months), I've been trying to figure out the best way to write a short post on Rachel Gordon, a friend and designer based in Charleston. I think its part of the fashion world, you make such great connections with people who you only get to see a few times a year.
In the brief time of knowing her, Rachel seems to just be one of those individuals who are so dynamic personally, and creatively, trying to describe them in a few sentences is quite difficult.
To save time, here is how I will describe Rachel for you.
- Rachel is a incredibly kind, beautiful, approachable person.
- Like most creative people, Rachel is a perfectionest - Example " Well, I didn't have anything to wear today, so I stayed up last night and made these pants." ~ Rachel telling me about her outfit after her show in Charleston last March. (See 4th photo down)
- Rachel makes really rad dresses. (See all photos below)
- Rachel would also like everyone to know that her "goddess" dresses are not just for tall skinny people. (my wife's reason not to try one on before. My new reason to make her try one on anyways and hopefully buy one of Rachel's off white, plunge neck dresses. LOVE!!)
- Lastly, Rachel likes sneaking in Southern based Street Style bloggers back stage at shows because apparently we are OK to hang around.
THE END - on to pictures.

This one time...
So you've probably seen other photos I've taken of Ali, like this one, and this one. She has since graduated from Virginia Tech and moved away, but called me this weekend and said, "hey I'm in town, wanna take a picture? I'll bring a friend."
What do you think I would say to that, no?
Here is a pop quiz for my local Southwest Virginia readers, where were these photos taken? Comment below. First person to guess right wins a Angel's Point of View camera charm.

On the Street... Isa on George St., Charleston
I sometimes forget to take portraits when shooting street style, I hope you can see why I didn't forget to take a close up of Isa. Another fun note, I often like to play with shadows and narrow light that trees and buildings make. I call it the "Morticia Addams Look," simple yet dramatic.

Street Style... Dapper Tim, King St., Charleston
Tim is the owner of 319 Men on King Street downtown Charleston, SC. He and his sharply dressed staff enjoy the foot traffic on King Street at the doorway of 319. I actually bought some black silk braces (suspenders) from his shop when I still lived in Charleston.

Street Style... Morrison Dr., Charleston, SC
I got to briefly meet Desmond Kinlaw while in Charleston for the day last week. He was voted one of Charleston 10 Most Stylish 2012 for Charleston Magazine. He also recently started a blog called Chinos & Cheesecake. From what a friend told me last week, after his shoot for Charleston Mag he's hooked to this thing called fashion. Welcome to the game Sir.

Red Carpet... Charleston Fashion Week
Vanessa Lachey, looking absolutely stunning (and pregnant) while in Charleston. I thought Nick Lachey might have passed on the trip down South, but Vanessa told me that he was just hanging out at the B&B they were put up in while she got her glam on. She was quite the beauty and very easy to talk to.

Downtown... Ed Kavishe, Charleston, SC
Ed Kavishe is a regular fixture in the photo pit at all the top fashion shows world wide, an is the key figure behind Fashion Wire Press. Ed was easily the sharpest dressed man behind a camera During Charleston Fashion Week - Next to me of course. :-) check out Ed's blog roll as well, he's always having some kind of photo fun with models on there.

Mychael Knight... Charleston Fashion Week 2012
Mychael Knight is quite the accomplished Southern designer. He was a contestant on Bravo's Project Runway, he's dressed celebrities Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah and Keri Hilson just to name a few, and this year he debuts his bridal line. He is quite the sharp dressed man, looking dapper each night while at CFW and quite the gentlemen. The highlight of his outfit here was the bleaching process he has developed which you can see in his Denim jacket. Below I posted a few of my favorite dresses from Mychael's bridal show, especially the second dress from the top.

Charleston Fashion Week - Chris Benz
Chris Benz was the featured designer Friday night at Charleston Fashion Week last week. His collection was full of color and lift, so fitting for spring in the South. I got to chat with him briefly while at the VIP party held at Hampden Clothing on King Street. See the photo below for how he showcased his collection at the event.
Here are some of my top pick from his runway show.
I loved the loose shape on top on this dress with its fitted bottom. The bead/rhinestone work on this dress was impeccable.
I'm in love with anything shear this season layered on solid colors, this tunic was to die for.
Again, these nude/tan colors are everywhere this season, I snapped a few photos of ladies wearing these shades on the streets a few times while down in Charleston.

Downtown... Erin of House of Sage, Charleston
Erin is the co-owner of House of Sage in downtown Charleston. She looked so fabulous in her knee high boots and brightly colored tunic, I posted both shots since I couldn't decided which one was better. I've actually been browsing the racks of House of Sage since it first opened before I moved back to Virginia and I always stop by when in town. House of Sage has been on my list of recommended shops when people ask about shopping in downtown Charleston for a while, so if your in town check it out for yourself.
