Last weekend I attended the VITA fashion show in Lynchburg, VA. For those that follow my blog, you know I'm making it a point to find and attend local fashion shows.
Unfortunately with the VITA show, promotion wasn't great and I found out about it 3 days before it happened so my expectations were a bit low. Backstage chaos was a bit too visible to guests, an apparent limited organization was in the air, and the lighting was less than great (unless you were a painting on the wall, it was an art gallery after all).
Aside from their faults, the entertainment was great, the models were stunning, and the designs covered a great range of creativity. I'll give VITA a slight break since this was the first year at this venue.
Did I mention lighting? I can't tell you how important lighting is to a fashion show. A spot light at the entrance and at the end of the runway/turning point would be more than enough. It's called key lighting and a little goes a long way.
Check back this week for some photos from VITA's show.
Love the hair in the first photo.
